When He was done, God didn’t need a day off because He was exhausted! The primary distinction is that He created human beings after His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27). The intention of God is clearly to bless. Prophets
As part of God's covenant with Abraham (see Gen. 12:1-3), He promised three things: 1) that God would turn Abraham's descendants into a great nation, 2) that this nation would be given a promised land to call home, and 3) that God would use this people to bless all the nations of the earth. "And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light." So, Genesis 1 and 2 should be understood as literally true. A 'Supreme Being' who behaves in such a petulant way doesn't deserve the title. God is omnipotent and could have spoken the whole creation into existence in an instant. Still, the reader may easily think of the rûaḥ of the day in reference to the rûaḥ of God hovering over the waters in Genesis 1:2. Wisdom Literature
